Abstract
"Connect to a machine for life." Perhaps through this conceptual reductionism it can be explained that the evolution of nephrological care was centred on the survival of the patient (as seems logical), but perhaps unaware of the inevitable axiom of dying. Our technical development is indisputable. The different Renal Replacement Therapies (RST) have evolved spectacularly, largely achieving this objective, but leaving aside our training in other essential facets of care for any person, such as effective communication or comfort care at the end of life.
