Abstract

It is already paradoxical that, in an eminently human profession, based mainly on dealing directly with people, with humans, in their care, we speak of humanity.

They say that when we talk about the essence of something, looking for it, it is because it is not seen, it is not there, it is not noticed. Remembering humanity in nursing is like talking about administration.
Is it precisely now, in these adverse weather conditions, that we miss it more? or is it that humanity is on the decline in the scale of values?

Our profession can demonstrate that it is a value on the rise, that we all appreciate it: "Humanity is everybody's business", like health or education. And from the universal we go to the particular, to the nursing profession and humanity understood as sensitivity, understanding, compassion for the misfortunes of others and the care that any person, any human being, needs for this reason.
