Abstract
Case report: We present the case of a male to whom a Swan Neck catheter is placed with good initial functioning, but in three months he needs two alpha maneuvers due to migrations and ends up needing a catheter replacement, this time placing a self-locating catheter.
During the healing period, he presents new displacement and a third alpha maneuver allows to restart the technique.
At three months, he is studied for presenting abdominal symptoms. Abdominal radiograph shows dilation of intestinal loops, urgent CT shows dilation of the caecum and colon until the crossing with the peritoneal dialysis catheter, being diagnosed of colon mechanical obstruction produced by dialysis catheter.
Laparoscopy is performed and the tip is repositioned in the pelvis. After surgery, the patient progressed favorably and after three months he received a cadaver renal transplant.
Despite opting for the self-locating catheter due to the lower rate of displacement, in the case of our patient the episode is repeated and it is also associated with a serious complication.
